Stream of Consciousness
When I've been sleeping in stats class, I've noticed that I hear most everything in the moment yet remember nothing outside. Or at least for some of my "light" sleeping in that class.
But that's just an interesting phenomenon -- the fact that in the moment, I can remember what's being said -- and can even recall a few words right after they're said, and process what's being said and make sense of it -- but afterwards can't recall anything. In that way, this light sleeping in stats is like watching a train go by car by car; I see each car, I see the graffiti and whatever on it, I see what it's carrying, and I can see its color -- but overall, after each carriage leaves, I don't remember the train.
And that's interesting because what I've just described is just like a dream. A stream of consciousness that your brain experiences flying by that you may or may not grasp onto and remember in the morning.
Maybe I'll just be dreaming in class from now on.
