Regarding Breakfast

Generalizations miss the details. They try to cover everything and thus cover nearly nothing. And so it is with the statement that "breakfast is the most important meal of the day".

I'm not necessarily a breakfast hater or someone who wakes up late that doesn't eat breakfast (both are semi-true though); rather, I just don't think breakfast is as important as it's made out to be.

Yes, breakfast is important. Yes, eating is good. Yes, eating when you wake up gives you some energy and is beneficial and probably stabilizes your mood and all that. But don't prescribe eating breakfast onto me or anyone -- breakfast could feasibly be the 'most important' meal of the day, but each person is different, each meal is different, and each day is different. There's no reason to follow in strict adherence to this rule in the face of changing circumstances.

So go eat breakfast. Or skip it. Or pretend to eat it but don't actually eat it until lunchtime. Or just eat 'breakfast' -- whether that be cereal and milk or eggs and bacon -- during dinner. It violates conventional norms but what's the point of those norms? To disallow you bacon at night?
