May 2025
It's now June 10th, quite late for a May recap. In my defense, school finished near the tail end of May and I went off to Ireland for ~8 days so between that and not checking my calendar (and not having my computer), there was no way I was going to do a recap. With that in mind, here's my (incomplete) recap for May:
Academics
I finished school :). I graduated, got my diploma, sat in graduation practice, spent some final moments with my friends, invited some friends over to my house (and played poker), and attended a bunch of formal events that my school offered because I'm good at playing the school game. Overall then, I've finished high school, and I am glad to be out of there. There are some great people, some great teachers, some great moments, some great information; but on the whole, I would prefer to not go to school :p
Life
I'm not sure how exactly to structure the life portion considering it's all very sparse and random, and I've forgot most of my life up to this point. Just look at the lots of bullet points below.
>> Apparently I cooked something really good on May 3rd. See picture below.
>> I finished a small book on rhetoric and philosophical implications of it. Lowkey the book was pretty shallow (called Aristotle goes to Washington (with an Aardvark) (or something like that)), but it had some nice insights.
>> I went to grad night after graduating! Pretty mid (see the corresponding blog post) both in terms of experience, quality, price, and every other factor. Just see the detailed review.
>> Learned that there's apparently a 3% chance that Jesus will return before 2025 from this article. The article is really good at explaining what's going on, and the screenshot is funny. It's a win-win.
>> Went to the local chess club (~5/6?) and played chess. Super fun, super cool seeing people, and performed pretty well. Also $1 Caltrain.
>> Someone who I thought was super cool (from afar) said I was cool. super cool. Maybe I should start telling more people that they're cool even if I don't know them that well.
>> Got over my senioritis and started doing things. I now am invested in making my own deck of playing cards, slapped on a basic evaluation function on my chess bot (it now has look ahead! I haven't worked on it for a few weeks though :/ ), shipped a bunch of random projects that I had on my mind, and started the summer plans. Still no job though :(
>> Wrapped up my scouting journey. Got Eagle Rank, and it's just the COH that's left.
>> Met up with some friends that I haven't seen from middle school.
>> Saw a play that my friend directed. It was spectacular. (see blog)
>> Packed off to head to Ireland.
Overall, a great month. I tied up a lot of things, I lived, and although I constantly now feel unproductive and at home (and unemployed), that doesn't mean this month was terrible.
