January 2025, a recap

A lot has gone on in the world in January.
I'm not too concerned with that though. Many other people have lots of thoughts on that. What I am concerned with however, is how January fared in my world. With that said, let's see what happened (ft. my calendar).

Over the course of January, I wrote a lot of posts on this blog. 10 in fact; which is pretty crazy considering I first do engineering and second don't really like writing. I guess I just had a lot of thoughts and midnight conversations.

So, let's talk about some fronts.

Academic Front

On the academic front, I've been faring pretty well. Some classes have amped up, some haven't, some require a lot of time (gov), some don't, and overall, I have been faring the waves as well as any vessel can be.
A few things I need to work on are on my trumpet playing (with auditions looming) and my overall practice schedule, on figuring out what exactly is happening with charges and stuff in AP Physics C (and not falling asleep in that class), and figuring out what to do with that spare, gap time during class where my brain is idling.

Moreover, the senioritis has most definitely been hitting :(.

Social(?) Front

I don't socialize much so this is more just the 'everything else' front. In terms of everything non-school, I kicked some cans towards getting Eagle down the road, am doing reasonably ok leading the software side of the robotics team, and have not been getting appropriate sleep. All things I need to work on.

Ws, Ls

On to the win/loss section. In terms of wins, the sun has gotten back out, I've recovered (am recovering) from a weekend illness, and overall, nothing has fatally broken in my life. Essentially, the ship I'm piloting has not sprung any leaks and is doing alright.
That doesn't mean waters aren't calm though.....

In terms of Ls, unfinished work would be a big one. I've been doing well on my homework assignments as those are pretty simple, but rather on those things that move my life forward, I've just been kind of neglecting and avoiding. For example, programming for robotics. Although I am the lead and I do a lot of helping and pointing and reviewing programming, I don't actually program much myself, even though I should. Probably because all my time has been spent gaming :C.

Looking forward

Looking forward, if I take the analogy of surfing, I see the crest of a big wave crashing down, and unfortunately, I think it is too late for me to escape (my work). With that in mind, I'll either just get hit by the wave and collapse or find some way to dive under and manage to avoid the bulk of the impact, whether by grinding it out (locking in is hard though) or by simply cutting. We'll see.

I hope everyone else's January went well.
