February 2026
It's been a month since January, and qualitatively, my life still feels the same — it's mundane and mediocre. The pockets of excitement that sprung up between the cracks of mediocrity were thoroughly drowned out by my emotional sea of apathy; in review, I was apathetic this month towards improving myself or progressing towards my goals (of which arguably I have none).
Perhaps that's simply how life is when you live in a meaningless grind.
As for the interesting things that have happened since January, I:
- Finished studying some differential equations (github) (02/21)
- Vibe coded an app to visualize courses and their prereqs (02/28)
- Attended a PhD defense (02/19)
- Stopped doing competitive programming / capture the flag events
- Went to Santa Barbara (the actual city) for the first time and took a look around (02/22)
- Started going on night walks (02/21)
- Attended a Yo-yo Ma recital (02/22)
- Tried rock climbing (02/06)
